Paper planes take off at Nepean Design Centre 2013

'Thursday Fun Day' last week was celebrated with a paper plane competition on Thursday 11th April at lunchtime. Students where given 10 minutes to create a paper plane that would fly the longest distance. Students had a lot of fun creating all sorts of designs that resembled various individual streamline concords to one paper plane that looked very much like a paper hat. Thank you again Thursday Fun Day committee for organising another fun event.

Crazy T-Shirt Day at Nepean Design Centre 2013

'Thursday Fun Day' this week was 'Crazy T-shirt Thursday' and students and staff got behind the theme creating and wearing their best t-shirts on the day. The winner of the best t-shirt design was won by Judith Tan who created an excellent homage to Rapunzel with a hand made design featured on the back of her t-shirt with wool and felt. Judith's design was a clear winner with great attention to detail and an amazing design showing off her creative ability.

Congratulations Judith and thanks again to the wonderful Thursday Fun Day committee for
organising the event.

Easter Egg hunt at Nepean Design Centre 2013

The new Nepean Design 'Thursday Fun Day' started with a great Easter Egg hunt for all our Design students. Students had fun finding lots of chocolate Easter eggs scattered around the grass areas infront of building T and P at Kingswood TAFE. Thanks to the Fun Day Committee, Anita Nau-Kleinmann, Michael McPherson and Spomenka Riger for organising the event, especially in the heat wave that ensured lots of lovely melted chocolate.

Frank Puletua Graphic Design Diploma Testimonial

Frank Puletua was a New Zealand professional rugby league player for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. Frank previously played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Puletua)

Frank completed the Graphic Design Diploma Part Time Evening in 2009 while playing first grade football for Penrith Panthers.

I had a great time at NADC (Nepean Arts and Design Centre). I actually used the academic credit from the course (Graphic Design Diploma) to complete the BA Design which I actually started in 2000. NADC was perfect for me in terms of completing my design studies. I never actually had any real intention to return until my wife urged me. I actually got bitten by the bug once I returned to complete the Diploma of Graphic Design.

I thank you (Sandi Lucock) - and Anita (Nau-Kleinmann) - for your help at NADC. I felt much of my Post Football opportunities was due to people like yourselves helping and supporting me along the way.

Thank you again.
