This course gives a basic introduction into Interior Design and Decoration. The course topics include; application of colour in interior spaces; decorating residential interiors including selection materials and finishes for surface decoration and arranging objects and elements within the space; sourcing and assessing the suitability of products in a retail and wholesale environment; while also researching significant influences in interior decoration and design.

When: 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday 2/11/2015 - 26/1/2016. This is a 9 week course, 6 weeks in 2015 and 3 weeks into 2016 allowing for a good break to celebrate Christmas.

Our Term 4 2015 offer of Design Fundamentals Certificate III starts on 19th October so enrol now. This is a 10 week intense course, Monday to Wednesday, that allows students to finish the Certificate III in 2015 and prepare for entry into one of our Graphic Design, Interior Design Decoration or Interactive Digital Media Diploma courses at the start of 2016.

The Design Fundamentals course is our foundation course where you are given the opportunity to learn a variety of skills. Such as 2D & 3D forms, computer aided drawing, produce & prepare photo images, history & theory of design, explore colour, produce creative work, produce drawing for ideas, scale models and many more.

Visual Merchandising Diploma at NADC 2013

My name is Brendan, I'm 35, and I completed the Visual Merchandising Diploma course in 2013 and graduated with Distinction.

I found the course quite enjoyable - it's very hands on and creative combining drawing, computer design and display building. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering everything from creating a colour wheel to display window object suspension - with teachers that have years of industry experience and knowledge.

While studying - TAFE also provides the opportunity to gain hands on experience through work experience programs with Myer and The Royal Easter Show.

Once completing the course and having acquired the necessary skills, I gained full time employment as a Visual Merchandiser with a well known furniture company.

ArchCad Fundamentals short course at NADC 2015

This course provides an introduction to the functions of ArchiCAD software for interior designers and interior decorators.  The course includes an overview of the program; general orientation to the ArchiCAD working environment; description of working of tools; manipulation of objects; using window door and object library parts.  There is also an introduction to generating 3D views of the model: - 3D paraline - perspectives - 3D sections - introducing the use of pens, materials, layers.
