Design at Try a Trade 2012

On Monday and Tuesday 25-26 June, three of our wonderful teachers Kerrey Williams, Shirley Gavin and Maree Patsanis represented Design at the annual Try a Trade event held at the Kevin Betts Stadium in Mt Druitt. The event is organised to give students an idea of what careers and/or trades they could study and enter into after school.

The Design teachers gave demonstrations in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design and Graphic Design and showed student samples from all areas. The students were drawn to the Design stand were they could design and produce their own badge that proudly display the NADC website with some fun/creative images and words.

RSL Annual Scholarship awarded to an Interior Design student

Penrith RSL has committed themselves to a yearly scholarship to a Interior Design student from Nepean Arts and Design Centre. This year the Scholarship was awarded to Sneha Desai an Advance Diploma, Stage 2 student. Congratulation Sneha and thank you Penrith RSL for your continued support.

Penrith RSL War Membrial Exhibition Space designed by Interior Design Students

The official opening of the War Memorial Exhibition Space at Penrith RSL that was designed by Advanced Diploma Interior Design students from Nepean Arts and Design Centre took place on the 6th June 2012. The opening was attended by RSL Dignitaries as well as local and state government representatives.

The design was completed as an in class exercise with many group designs being produced. The winning design was created by Maxine Wetsteyn and Shanel Erzeybek and was constructed in May 2012.

WSI Student Excellence Awards 2012

Students from the Visual Merchandising and Graphic Design Diplomas at Nepean Arts and Design Centre again helped to make the WSI Student Excellence Awards a visually appealing and professional display. 

The Graphic Design students designed the flowing design of the logo that was applied to signage, invitation, name tags, programs, table settings and certificates through WSI Marketing and Deefa Design Studio, NADCs own design studio. 

The Visual Merchandising students designed the wonderful table centre pieces and then constructed them involving laser cutting, printing and the clever use of LCD coloured lights. They also designed and constructed the very large and impressive rubics cube that welcomed guests to the event as they arrived.
