2016 Design course information sessions

Design displays work at 2015 "Hope" breakfast for Breast Cancer Institute, Westmead

This year we celebrated our 10th year of working with the Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital. The Design section have been producing Hope posters for the annual charity breakfast celebrations providing inspirational artworks and imagery of patients, doctors, nurses and support staff associated with the Institute. The breakfast is a fund raiser for the Breast Cancer Institute and it is also a platform for raising awareness of research and treatment developments.

This year again the the students provided a great range of posters to decorate the breakfast event. The posters show many of the attendees at the breakfast so there is always a great interest in what creative designs students can do with images of people and sunflowers to promote Hope.

Again, Helen Clare worked tirelessly to make sure all posters were completed on time and ready for display. One of our ex Graphic Design students, Shayne Cocks, was the official photographer for the breakfast and was kept busy throughout the breakfast and then after taking photos of people for next years Hope posters. Thank you so much Helen and Shayne.

"Hope" Banner Design and People's Choice Award winner at Breast Cancer Institute Breakfast 2015

This years Breast Cancer Breakfast for the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute was again decorated with fantastic designs produced by our Graphic Design Diploma students at Nepean Arts and Design Centre, Western Sydney Institute TAFE for the tenth year running. The imagery and text showed in the posters reflected the theme of "Hope" and displays patients, doctors, nurses, support families and community support groups that are associated with the Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital, reflecting their vision of "Hope" for a fantastic future and support for breast cancer research.

As always, a People's Choice award was given to one of the poster designs that the audience felt had the best overall design appeal. This years Designer was Mica Blanco who began his Diploma studies early in the year.

A second congratulations goes to Mica also as her overall banner design was chosen by the staff at Nepean Arts and Design Centre as a template to show all student designs to be displayed at the breakfast. Congratulations Mica and thanks for your wonderful design.
